2 Chronicles 14

KJV with Strongs (1611 / 1769)

Strong's Interlinear
1
So Abijah slept{(H8799)} with his fathers, and they buried{(H8799)} him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned{(H8799)} in his stead. In his days the land was quiet{(H8804)} ten years.
2
And Asa did{(H8799)} that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:
3
For he took away{(H8686)} the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down{(H8762)} the images, and cut down{(H8762)} the groves:
4
And commanded{(H8799)} Judah to seek{(H8800)} the LORD God of their fathers, and to do{(H8800)} the law and the commandment.
5
Also he took away{(H8686)} out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet{(H8799)} before him.
6
And he built{(H8799)} fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest{(H8804)}, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest{(H8689)}.
7
Therefore he said{(H8799)} unto Judah, Let us build{(H8799)} these cities, and make about{(H8686)} them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought{(H8804)} the LORD our God, we have sought{(H8804)} him, and he hath given us rest{(H8799)} on every side. So they built{(H8799)} and prospered{(H8686)}.
8
And Asa had an army of men that bare{(H8802)} targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare{(H8802)} shields and drew{(H8802)} bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.
9
And there came out{(H8799)} against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came{(H8799)} unto Mareshah.
10
Then Asa went out{(H8799)} against him, and they set the battle in array{(H8799)} in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
11
And Asa cried{(H8799)} unto the LORD his God, and said{(H8799)}, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help{(H8800)}, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help{(H8798)} us, O LORD our God; for we rest{(H8738)} on thee, and in thy name we go{(H8804)} against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail{(H8799)} against thee.
12
So the LORD smote{(H8799)} the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled{(H8799)}.
13
And Asa and the people that were with him pursued{(H8799)} them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown{(H8799)}, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed{(H8738)} before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away{(H8799)} very much{(H8687)} spoil.
14
And they smote{(H8686)} all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled{(H8799)} all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
15
They smote{(H8689)} also the tents of cattle, and carried away{(H8799)} sheep and camels in abundance, and returned{(H8799)} to Jerusalem.
