And Hezekiah sent{(H8799)} to all Israel and Judah, and wrote{(H8804)} letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come{(H8800)} to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep{(H8800)} the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.

For the king had taken counsel{(H8735)}, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep{(H8800)} the passover in the second month.

For they could{(H8804)} not keep{(H8800)} it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified{(H8694)} themselves sufficiently{(H8676)}, neither had the people gathered themselves together{(H8738)} to Jerusalem.

And the thing pleased{(H8799)} the king and all the congregation.

So they established{(H8686)} a decree to make proclamation{(H8687)} throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come{(H8800)} to keep{(H8800)} the passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done{(H8804)} it of a long time in such sort as it was written{(H8803)}.

So the posts{(H8801)} went{(H8799)} with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying{(H8800)}, Ye children of Israel, turn again{(H8798)} unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return{(H8799)} to the remnant{(H8737)} of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed{(H8804)} against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up{(H8799)} to desolation, as ye see{(H8802)}.

Now be ye not stiffnecked{(H8686)}, as your fathers were, but yield{(H8798)} yourselves unto the LORD, and enter{(H8798)} into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified{(H8689)} for ever: and serve{(H8798)} the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away{(H8799)} from you.

For if ye turn again{(H8800)} unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive{(H8802)}, so that they shall come again{(H8800)} into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away{(H8686)} his face from you, if ye return{(H8799)} unto him.

So the posts{(H8801)} passed{(H8802)} from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn{(H8688)}, and mocked{(H8688)} them.

Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled{(H8738)} themselves, and came{(H8799)} to Jerusalem.

Also in Judah the hand of God was to give{(H8800)} them one heart to do{(H8800)} the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

And there assembled{(H8735)} at Jerusalem much people to keep{(H8800)} the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

And they arose{(H8799)} and took away{(H8686)} the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away{(H8689)}, and cast{(H8686)} them into the brook Kidron.

Then they killed{(H8799)} the passover on the fourteenth{H6240} day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed{(H8738)}, and sanctified{(H8691)} themselves, and brought in{(H8686)} the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.

And they stood{(H8799)} in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled{(H8802)} the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.

For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified{(H8694)}: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify{(H8687)} them unto the LORD.

For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed{(H8694)} themselves, yet did they eat{(H8804)} the passover otherwise than it was written{(H8803)}. But Hezekiah prayed{(H8694)} for them, saying{(H8800)}, The good LORD pardon{(H8762)} every one

That prepareth{(H8689)} his heart to seek{(H8800)} God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

And the LORD hearkened{(H8799)} to Hezekiah, and healed{(H8799)} the people.

And the children of Israel that were present{(H8737)} at Jerusalem kept{(H8799)} the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised{(H8764)} the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the LORD.

And Hezekiah spake{(H8762)} comfortably unto all the Levites that taught{(H8688)} the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat{(H8799)} throughout the feast seven days, offering{(H8764)} peace offerings, and making confession{(H8693)} to the LORD God of their fathers.

And the whole assembly took counsel{(H8735)} to keep{(H8800)} other seven days: and they kept{(H8799)} other seven days with gladness.

For Hezekiah king of Judah did give{(H8689)} to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave{(H8689)} to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified{(H8691)} themselves.

And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out{(H8802)} of Israel, and the strangers that came out{(H8802)} of the land of Israel, and that dwelt{(H8802)} in Judah, rejoiced{(H8799)}.

So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

Then the priests the Levites arose{(H8799)} and blessed{(H8762)} the people: and their voice was heard{(H8735)}, and their prayer came{(H8799)} up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.
