2 Timothy 2

✦Strong's Interlinear
1
Thou therefore, my son, be strong{(G5744)} in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2
And the things that thou hast heard{(G5656)} of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou{(G5639)} to faithful men, who shall be{(G5704)} able to teach{(G5658)} others also.
3
Thou therefore endure hardness{(G5657)}, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4
No man that warreth{(G5734)} entangleth himself{(G5743)} with the affairs of this life; that he may please{(G5661)} him who hath chosen him to be a soldier{(G5660)}.
5
And if a man also strive{(G5725)} for masteries, yet is he not crowned{(G5743)}, except he strive{(G5661)} lawfully.
6
The husbandman that laboureth{(G5723)} must be{(G5748)} first partaker{(G5721)} of the fruits.
7
Consider{(G5720)} what I say{(G5719)}; and the Lord give{(G5630)} thee understanding in all things.
8
Remember{(G5720)} that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised{(G5772)} from the dead according to my gospel:
9
Wherein{G3739} I suffer trouble{(G5719)}, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound{(G5769)}.
10
Therefore{G5124} I endure{(G5719)} all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain{(G5632)} the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11
It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with{(G5627)} him, we shall also live with{(G5692)} him:
12
If we suffer{(G5719)}, we shall also reign with{(G5692)} him: if we deny{(G5736)} him, he also will deny{(G5695)} us:
13
If we believe not{(G5719)}, yet he abideth{(G5719)} faithful: he cannot{G1410}{(G5736)} deny{(G5664)} himself.
14
Of these things put them in remembrance{(G5720)}, charging{(G5740)} them before the Lord that they strive not about words{(G5721)} to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers{(G5723)}.
15
Study{(G5657)} to shew{(G5658)} thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing{(G5723)} the word of truth.
16
But shun{(G5732)} profane and vain babblings: for they will increase{(G5692)} unto more ungodliness.
17
And their word will eat{(G5692)} as doth a canker: of whom is{(G5748)} Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18
Who concerning the truth have erred{(G5656)}, saying{(G5723)} that the resurrection is past{(G5755)} already; and overthrow{(G5719)} the faith of some.
19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth{(G5707)}{(G5758)} sure, having{(G5723)} this seal, The Lord knoweth{(G5627)} them that are{(G5752)} his. And, Let every one that nameth{(G5723)} the name of Christ depart{(G5628)} from iniquity.
20
But in a great house there are{(G5748)} not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some{G3303} to honour, and some to dishonour.
21
If a man therefore purge{(G5661)} himself from these, he shall be{(G5704)} a vessel unto honour, sanctified{(G5772)}, and meet for the master's use, and prepared{(G5772)} unto every good work.
22
Flee{(G5720)} also youthful lusts: but follow{(G5720)} righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on{(G5734)} the Lord out of a pure heart.
23
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid{(G5737)}, knowing{(G5761)} that they do gender{(G5719)} strifes.
24
And the servant of the Lord must{(G5748)} not strive{(G5738)}; but be{(G5750)} gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25
In meekness instructing{(G5723)} those that oppose themselves{(G5734)}; if God peradventure will give{(G5632)} them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26
And that they may recover themselves{(G5661)} out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive{(G5772)} by him at his will.
