John 7

KJV with Strongs (1611 / 1769)

Strong's Interlinear
1
{G2532} After these things Jesus walked{(G5707)} in Galilee: for he would{(G5707)} not walk{(G5721)} in Jewry, because the Jews sought{(G5707)} to kill{(G5658)} him.
2
Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was{(G5713)} at hand.
3
His brethren therefore said{(G5627)} unto him, Depart{(G5628)} hence, and go{(G5720)} into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see{(G5661)} the works that thou doest{(G5719)}.
4
For there is no man that doeth{(G5719)} any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh{(G5719)} to be{(G5750)} known openly{G3954}. If thou do{(G5719)} these things, shew{(G5657)} thyself to the world.
5
For neither did his brethren believe{(G5707)} in him.
6
Then Jesus said{(G5719)} unto them, My time is not yet come{(G5748)}: but your time is{(G5748)} alway ready.
7
The world cannot{G1410}{(G5736)} hate{(G5721)} you; but me it hateth{(G5719)}, because I testify{(G5719)} of it, that the works thereof are{(G5748)} evil.
8
Go ye up{(G5628)} unto this feast: I go not up{(G5719)} yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come{(G5769)}.
9
When he had said{(G5631)} these words unto them, he abode{(G5656)} still in Galilee.
10
But when his brethren were gone up{(G5627)}, then went he also up{(G5627)} unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
11
Then the Jews sought{(G5707)} him at the feast, and said{(G5707)}, Where is{(G5748)} he?
12
And there was{(G5713)} much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said{(G5707)}, He is{(G5748)} a good man: others{G243} said{(G5707)}, Nay; but he deceiveth{(G5719)} the people.
13
Howbeit no man spake{(G5707)} openly of him for fear of the Jews.
14
Now about the midst of{(G5723)} the feast Jesus went up{(G5627)} into the temple, and taught{(G5707)}.
15
And the Jews marvelled{(G5707)}, saying{(G5723)}, How knoweth{(G5758)} this man letters, having never learned{(G5761)}?
16
Jesus answered{(G5662)} them, and said{(G5627)}, My doctrine is{(G5748)} not mine, but his that sent{(G5660)} me.
17
If any man will{(G5725)} do{(G5721)} his will, he shall know{(G5695)} of the doctrine, whether it be{(G5748)} of God, or whether I speak{(G5719)} of myself.
18
He that speaketh{(G5723)} of himself seeketh{(G5719)} his own glory: but he that seeketh{(G5723)} his glory that sent{(G5660)} him, the same is{(G5748)} true, and no unrighteousness is{(G5748)} in him.
19
Did not Moses give{(G5758)} you the law, and yet none of you keepeth{(G5719)} the law? Why go ye about{(G5719)} to kill{(G5658)} me?
20
The people answered{(G5662)} and said{(G5627)}, Thou hast{(G5719)} a devil: who goeth about{(G5719)} to kill{(G5658)} thee?
21
Jesus answered{(G5662)} and said{(G5627)} unto them, I have done{(G5656)} one work, and ye all marvel{(G5719)}.
22
Moses therefore{G5124} gave{(G5758)} unto you circumcision;(not because it is{(G5748)} of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise{(G5719)} a man.
23
If a man on the sabbath day receive{(G5719)} circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken{(G5686)}; are ye angry{(G5719)} at me, because I have made{(G5656)} a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
24
Judge{(G5720)} not according to the appearance, but judge{(G5657)} righteous judgment.
25
Then said{(G5707)} some of them of Jerusalem, Is{(G5748)} not this he, whom they seek{(G5719)} to kill{(G5658)}?
26
But, lo, he speaketh{(G5719)} boldly, and they say{(G5719)} nothing unto him. Do the rulers know{(G5627)} indeed{G230} that this is{(G5748)} the very Christ?
27
Howbeit we know{(G5758)} this man whence he is{(G5748)}: but when Christ cometh{(G5741)}, no man knoweth{(G5719)} whence he is{(G5748)}.
28
Then cried{(G5656)} Jesus in the temple as he taught{(G5723)}, saying{(G5723)}, Ye both know me{(G5758)}, and ye know{(G5758)} whence I am{(G5748)}: and I am not come{(G5754)} of myself, but he that sent{(G5660)} me is{(G5748)} true, whom ye know{(G5758)} not.
29
But I know{(G5758)} him: for I am{(G5748)} from him, and he hath sent{(G5656)} me.
30
Then they sought{(G5707)} to take{(G5658)} him: but no man laid{(G5627)} hands on him, because his hour was not yet come{(G5715)}.
31
And many of the people believed{(G5656)} on him, and said{(G5707)}, When Christ cometh{(G5632)}, will he do{G4160}{(G5692)} more miracles than these which this man hath done{(G5656)}?
32
The Pharisees heard{(G5656)} that the people murmured{(G5723)} such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent{(G5656)} officers to take{(G5661)} him.
33
Then said{(G5627)} Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I{(G5748)} with you, and then I go{(G5719)} unto him that sent{(G5660)} me.
34
Ye shall seek{(G5692)} me, and shall not find{(G5692)} me: and where I am{(G5748)}, thither ye cannot{G1410}{(G5736)} come{(G5629)}.
35
Then said{(G5627)} the Jews among themselves, Whither will{(G5719)} he go{(G5738)}, that we shall not find{(G5692)} him? will{G3195}{(G5719)} he go{(G5738)} unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach{(G5721)} the Gentiles?
36
What manner of saying is{(G5748)} this that he said{(G5627)}, Ye shall seek{(G5692)} me, and shall not find{(G5692)} me: and where I am{(G5748)}, thither ye cannot{G1410}{(G5736)} come{(G5629)}?
37
{G1161} In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood{(G5715)} and cried{(G5656)}, saying{(G5723)}, If any man thirst{(G5725)}, let him come{(G5737)} unto me, and drink{(G5720)}.
38
He that believeth{(G5723)} on me, as the scripture hath said{(G5627)}, out of his belly shall flow{(G5692)} rivers of living{(G5723)} water.
39
(But this spake he{(G5627)} of the Spirit, which they that believe{(G5723)} on him should{(G5707)} receive{(G5721)}: for the Holy Ghost was{(G5713)} not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified{(G5681)}.)
40
Many of the people therefore, when they heard{(G5660)} this saying, said{(G5707)}, Of a truth this is{(G5748)} the Prophet.
41
Others said{(G5707)}, This is{(G5748)} the Christ. But some said{(G5707)}, Shall Christ come{(G5736)} out of Galilee?
42
Hath not the scripture said{(G5627)}, That Christ cometh{(G5736)} of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was{(G5713)}?
43
So there was{(G5633)} a division among the people because of him.
44
And some of them would{(G5707)} have taken{(G5658)} him; but no man laid{(G5627)} hands on him.
45
Then came{(G5627)} the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said{(G5627)} unto them, Why have ye not brought{(G5627)} him?
46
The officers answered{(G5662)}, Never man spake{G2980}{(G5656)} like this man.
47
Then answered{(G5662)} them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived{(G5769)}?
48
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed{(G5656)} on him?
49
But this people who knoweth{(G5723)} not the law are{(G5748)} cursed.
50
Nicodemus saith{(G5719)} unto them,(he that came{(G5631)} to Jesus by night, being{(G5752)} one of them,)
51
Doth our law judge{(G5719)} any man, before{G3362} it hear{(G5661)} him, and know{(G5632)} what he doeth{(G5719)}?
52
They answered{(G5662)} and said{(G5627)} unto him, Art{G1488}{(G5748)} thou also of Galilee? Search{(G5657)}, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth{(G5769)} no prophet.
53
And every man went{(G5675)} unto his own house.
