✦Strong's Interlinear
1
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
2
As it is written{(G5769)} in the prophets, Behold{(G5628)}, I send{(G5719)} my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare{(G5692)} thy way before thee.
3
The voice of one crying{(G5723)} in the wilderness, Prepare ye{(G5657)} the way of the Lord, make{(G5720)} his paths straight.
4
John did{(G5633)} baptize{(G5723)} in the wilderness, and preach{(G5723)} the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
5
And there went out{(G5711)} unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized{(G5712)} of him in the river of Jordan, confessing{(G5734)} their sins.
6
And John was{(G5713)} clothed{(G5765)} with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat{(G5723)} locusts and wild honey;
7
And preached{(G5707)}, saying{(G5723)}, There cometh{(G5736)} one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes{G5266} I am{(G5748)} not worthy to stoop down{(G5660)} and unloose{(G5658)}.
8
I indeed have baptized{(G5656)} you with water: but he shall baptize{(G5692)} you with the Holy Ghost.
9
And it came to pass{(G5633)} in those days, that Jesus came{(G5627)} from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized{(G5681)} of John in Jordan.
10
And straightway coming up{(G5723)} out of the water, he saw{(G5627)} the heavens opened{(G5746)}, and the Spirit like a dove descending{(G5723)} upon him:
11
And there came{(G5633)} a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art{(G5748)} my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased{(G5656)}.
12
And immediately the Spirit driveth{(G5719)} him into the wilderness.
13
And he was{(G5713)} there in the wilderness forty days, tempted{(G5746)} of Satan; and was{(G5713)} with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered{(G5707)} unto him.
14
Now after that John was put in prison{(G5683)}, Jesus came{(G5627)} into Galilee, preaching{(G5723)} the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15
And saying{(G5723)}, The time is fulfilled{(G5769)}, and the kingdom of God is at hand{(G5758)}: repent ye{(G5720)}, and believe{(G5720)} the gospel.
16
Now as he walked{(G5723)} by the sea of Galilee, he saw{(G5627)} Simon and Andrew his brother casting{(G5723)} a net into the sea: for they were{(G5713)} fishers.
17
And Jesus said{(G5627)} unto them, Come ye{(G5773)} after me, and I will make{(G5692)} you to become{(G5635)} fishers of men.
18
And straightway they forsook{(G5631)} their nets, and followed{(G5656)} him.
19
And when he had gone a little further{(G5631)} thence, he saw{(G5627)} James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending{(G5723)} their nets.
20
And straightway he called{(G5656)} them: and they left{(G5631)} their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went{(G5627)} after him.
21
And they went{(G5736)} into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered{(G5631)} into the synagogue, and taught{(G5707)}.
22
And they were astonished{(G5712)} at his doctrine: for he taught{(G5723)}{(G5713)} them as one that had{(G5723)} authority, and not as the scribes.
23
And there was{(G5713)} in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out{(G5656)},
24
Saying{(G5723)}, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come{(G5627)} to destroy{(G5658)} us? I know{(G5758)} thee who thou art{(G5748)}, the Holy One of God.
25
And Jesus rebuked{(G5656)} him, saying{(G5723)}, Hold thy peace{(G5682)}, and come{(G5628)} out of him.
26
And when the unclean spirit had torn{(G5660)} him, and cried{(G5660)} with a loud voice, he came{(G5627)} out of him.
27
And they were all amazed{(G5681)}, insomuch that they questioned{(G5721)} among themselves, saying{(G5723)}, What thing is{(G5748)} this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth{(G5719)} he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey{(G5719)} him.
28
And immediately his fame spread abroad{(G5627)} throughout all the region round about Galilee.
29
And forthwith, when they were come{(G5631)} out of the synagogue, they entered{(G5627)} into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30
But Simon's wife's mother lay{(G5711)} sick of a fever{(G5723)}, and anon they tell{(G5719)} him of her.
31
And he came{(G5631)} and took{(G5660)} her by the hand, and lifted her up{(G5656)}; and immediately the fever left{(G5656)} her, and she ministered{(G5707)} unto them.
32
And at{(G5637)} even, when the sun did set{(G5627)}, they brought{(G5707)} unto him all that were{(G5723)} diseased, and them that were possessed with devils{(G5740)}.
33
And all the city was{(G5713)} gathered together{(G5772)} at the door.
34
And he healed{(G5656)} many that were{(G5723)} sick of divers diseases, and cast out{(G5627)} many devils; and suffered{(G5707)} not the devils to speak{(G5721)}, because they knew{(G5715)} him.
35
And in the morning, rising up{(G5631)} a great while before day, he went out{(G5627)}, and departed{(G5627)} into a solitary place, and there prayed{(G5711)}.
36
And Simon and they that were with him followed after{(G5656)} him.
37
And when they had found{(G5631)} him, they said{(G5719)} unto him, All men seek{(G5719)} for thee.
38
And he said{(G5719)} unto them, Let us go{(G5725)} into the next{(G5746)} towns, that I may preach{(G5661)} there also: for therefore{G5124} came I forth{(G5758)}.
39
And he preached{(G5723)}{(G5713)} in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out{(G5723)} devils.
40
And there came{(G5736)} a leper to him, beseeching{(G5723)} him, and kneeling down{(G5723)} to him, and saying{(G5723)} unto him, If thou wilt{(G5725)}, thou canst{(G5736)} make me clean{(G5658)}.
41
And Jesus, moved with compassion{(G5679)}, put forth{(G5660)} his hand, and touched{(G5662)} him, and saith{(G5719)} unto him, I will{(G5719)}; be thou clean{(G5682)}.
42
And as soon as he had spoken{(G5631)}, immediately the leprosy departed{(G5627)} from him, and he was cleansed{(G5681)}.
43
And he straitly charged{(G5666)} him, and forthwith sent him away{(G5627)};
44
And saith{(G5719)} unto him, See{(G5720)} thou say{(G5632)} nothing to any man: but go thy way{(G5720)}, shew{(G5657)} thyself to the priest, and offer{(G5628)} for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded{(G5656)}, for a testimony unto them.
45
But he went out{(G5631)}, and began{(G5662)} to publish{(G5721)} it much, and to blaze abroad{(G5721)} the matter, insomuch that Jesus could{(G5738)} no more openly enter{(G5629)} into the city, but was{(G5713)} without in desert places: and they came{(G5711)} to him from every quarter.
