Mark 14

KJV with Strongs (1611 / 1769)

Strong's Interlinear
1
After two days was{(G5713)} the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought{(G5707)} how they might take{(G5660)} him by craft, and put him to death{(G5725)}.
2
But they said{(G5707)}, Not on the feast day, lest there be{(G5704)} an uproar of the people.
3
And being{G5607}{(G5752)} in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat{(G5740)}, there came{(G5627)} a woman having{(G5723)} an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard{G4101} very precious; and she brake{(G5660)} the box, and poured{(G5656)} it on his head.
4
And there were{(G5713)} some that had indignation{(G5723)} within themselves, and said{(G5723)}, Why{G5101} was this waste of the ointment made{(G5754)}?
5
For it might{(G5711)} have been sold{(G5683)} for more than three hundred pence, and have been given{(G5683)} to the poor. And they murmured against{(G5711)} her.
6
And Jesus said{(G5627)}, Let her alone{(G5628)}; why trouble ye{G3930}{(G5719)} her? she hath wrought{(G5662)} a good work on me.
7
For ye have{(G5719)} the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will{(G5725)} ye may{(G5736)} do{(G5658)} them good: but me ye have{(G5719)} not always.
8
She hath done{(G5656)} what she{(G5625)} could{(G5707)}: she is come aforehand{(G5627)} to anoint{(G5658)} my body to the burying.
9
Verily I say{(G5719)} unto you, Wheresoever{G302} this gospel shall be preached{(G5686)} throughout the whole world, this also that she{(G5625)} hath done{(G5656)} shall be spoken{(G5701)} of for a memorial of her.
10
And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went{(G5627)} unto the chief priests, to betray{(G5632)} him unto them.
11
And when they heard{(G5660)} it, they were glad{(G5644)}, and promised{(G5673)} to give{(G5629)} him money. And he sought{(G5707)} how he might conveniently betray{(G5632)} him.
12
And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed{(G5707)} the passover, his disciples said{(G5719)} unto him, Where wilt thou{(G5719)} that we go{(G5631)} and prepare{(G5661)} that thou mayest eat{(G5632)} the passover?
13
And he sendeth forth{(G5719)} two of his disciples, and saith{(G5719)} unto them, Go ye{(G5720)} into the city, and there shall meet{(G5692)} you a man bearing{(G5723)} a pitcher of water: follow{(G5657)} him.
14
And wheresoever{G1437} he shall go in{(G5632)}, say ye{(G5628)} to the goodman of the house, The Master saith{(G5719)}, Where is{(G5748)} the guestchamber, where I shall eat{(G5632)} the passover with my disciples?
15
And he will shew{(G5692)} you a large upper room furnished{(G5772)} and prepared: there make ready{(G5657)} for us.
16
And his disciples went forth{(G5627)}, and came{(G5627)} into the city, and found{(G5627)} as he had said{(G5627)} unto them: and they made ready{(G5656)} the passover.
17
And in{(G5637)} the evening he cometh{(G5736)} with the twelve.
18
And as they sat{(G5740)} and did eat{(G5723)}, Jesus said{(G5627)}, Verily I say{(G5719)} unto you, One of you which eateth{(G5723)} with me shall betray{(G5692)} me.
19
And they began{(G5662)} to be sorrowful{(G5745)}, and to say{(G5721)} unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
20
And he answered{(G5679)} and said{(G5627)} unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth{(G5734)} with me in the dish.
21
The Son of man indeed goeth{(G5719)}, as it is written{(G5769)} of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed{(G5743)}! good were it{(G5713)} for that man if he had never been born{(G5681)}.
22
And as they did eat{(G5723)}, Jesus took{(G5631)} bread, and blessed{(G5660)}, and brake{(G5656)} it, and gave{(G5656)} to them, and said{(G5627)}, Take{(G5628)}, eat{(G5628)}: this is{(G5748)} my body.
23
And he took{(G5631)} the cup, and when he had given thanks{(G5660)}, he gave{(G5656)} it to them: and they all drank{(G5627)} of it.
24
And he said{(G5627)} unto them, This is{(G5748)} my blood of the new testament, which is shed{(G5746)} for many.
25
Verily I say{(G5719)} unto you, I will drink{(G5632)} no more{G3765} of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink{(G5725)} it new in the kingdom of God.
26
And when they had sung an hymn{(G5660)}, they went out{(G5627)} into the mount of Olives.
27
And Jesus saith{(G5719)} unto them, All ye shall be offended{(G5701)} because of me{G1698} this night: for it is written{(G5769)}, I will smite{(G5692)} the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered{(G5701)}.
28
But after that I am risen{(G5683)}, I will go before{(G5692)} you into Galilee.
29
But Peter said{(G5713)} unto him, Although{G1487} all shall be offended{(G5701)}, yet will not I.
30
And Jesus saith{(G5719)} unto him, Verily I say{(G5719)} unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before{G2228} the cock crow{(G5658)} twice, thou shalt deny{(G5695)} me thrice.
31
But he spake{(G5707)} the more vehemently{G4053}, If I should{(G5753)} die with{(G5629)} thee, I will not deny{(G5695)} thee in any wise. Likewise also{G2532} said they{(G5707)} all.
32
And they came{(G5736)} to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith{(G5719)} to his disciples, Sit ye{(G5657)} here, while I shall pray{(G5667)}.
33
And he taketh{(G5719)} with him Peter and James and John, and began{(G5662)} to be sore amazed{(G5745)}, and to be very heavy{(G5721)};
34
And saith{(G5719)} unto them, My soul is{(G5748)} exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye{(G5657)} here, and watch{(G5720)}.
35
And he went forward{(G5631)} a little, and fell{(G5627)} on the ground, and prayed{(G5711)} that, if it were{(G5748)} possible, the hour might pass{(G5632)} from him.
36
And he said{(G5707)}, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away{(G5628)} this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will{(G5719)}, but what thou wilt.
37
And he cometh{(G5736)}, and findeth{(G5719)} them sleeping{(G5723)}, and saith{(G5719)} unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou{(G5719)}? couldest{(G5656)} not thou watch{(G5658)} one hour?
38
Watch ye{(G5720)} and pray{(G5737)}, lest ye enter{(G5632)} into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
39
And again he went away{(G5631)}, and prayed{(G5662)}, and spake{(G5631)} the same words.
40
And when he returned{(G5660)}, he found{(G5627)} them asleep{(G5723)} again,(for their eyes were{(G5713)} heavy{(G5772)},) neither{G3756} wist they{(G5715)} what to answer{(G5680)} him.
41
And he cometh{(G5736)} the third time, and saith{(G5719)} unto them, Sleep on{(G5719)} now, and take your rest{(G5731)}{(G5732)}: it is enough{(G5719)}, the hour is come{(G5627)}; behold{(G5628)}, the Son of man is betrayed{(G5743)} into the hands of sinners.
42
Rise up{(G5728)}, let us go{(G5725)}; lo{(G5628)}, he that betrayeth{(G5723)} me is at hand{(G5758)}.
43
And immediately, while he yet spake{(G5723)}, cometh{(G5736)} Judas, one{G5607}{(G5752)} of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
44
And he that betrayed{(G5723)} him had given{(G5715)} them a token, saying{(G5723)}, Whomsoever{G302} I shall kiss{(G5661)}, that same is he{(G5748)}; take{(G5657)} him, and lead him away{(G5628)} safely.
45
And as soon as he was come{(G5631)}, he goeth{(G5631)} straightway to him, and saith{(G5719)}, Master, master; and kissed{(G5656)} him.
46
And they laid{(G5627)} their hands on him, and took{(G5656)} him.
47
And one of them that stood by{(G5761)} drew{(G5671)} a sword, and smote{(G5656)} a servant of the high priest, and cut off{(G5627)} his ear.
48
And Jesus answered{(G5679)} and said{(G5627)} unto them, Are ye come out{(G5627)}, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take{(G5629)} me?
49
I was{(G5713)} daily{G2596} with you in the temple teaching{(G5723)}, and ye took{(G5656)} me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled{(G5686)}.
50
And they all forsook{(G5631)} him, and fled{(G5627)}.
51
And there followed{(G5707)} him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast{(G5772)} about his naked body; and the young men laid hold{(G5719)} on him:
52
And he left{(G5631)} the linen cloth, and fled{(G5627)} from them naked.
53
And they led Jesus away{(G5627)} to the high priest: and with him were assembled{(G5736)} all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
54
And Peter followed{(G5656)} him afar off, even into{G1519} the palace of the high priest: and he sat{(G5713)}{(G5740)} with the servants, and warmed himself{(G5734)} at the fire.
55
And the chief priests and all the council sought{(G5707)} for witness against Jesus to put him to death{(G5658)}; and found{(G5707)} none.
56
For many bare false witness{(G5707)} against him, but their witness agreed not{G3756} together{(G5713)}.
57
And there arose{(G5631)} certain, and bare false witness{(G5707)} against him, saying{(G5723)},
58
{G3754} We heard{(G5656)} him say{(G5723)}, I will destroy{(G5692)} this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build{(G5692)} another made without hands.
59
But neither so did their witness agree together{(G5713)}.
60
And the high priest stood up{(G5631)} in the midst, and asked{(G5656)} Jesus, saying{(G5723)}, Answerest thou{(G5736)} nothing? what is it which these witness{(G5719)} against thee?
61
But he held his peace{(G5707)}, and answered{(G5662)} nothing. Again the high priest asked{(G5707)} him, and said{(G5719)} unto him, Art{(G5748)} thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
62
And Jesus said{(G5627)}, I am{(G5748)}: and ye shall see{(G5695)} the Son of man sitting{(G5740)} on the right hand of power, and coming{(G5740)} in the clouds of heaven.
63
Then the high priest rent{(G5660)} his clothes, and saith{(G5719)}, What need we{(G5719)} any further witnesses?
64
Ye have heard{(G5656)} the blasphemy: what think{(G5727)} ye? And they all condemned{(G5656)} him to be{(G5750)} guilty of death.
65
And some began{(G5662)} to spit{(G5721)} on him, and to cover{(G5721)} his face, and to buffet{(G5721)} him, and to say{(G5721)} unto him, Prophesy{(G5657)}: and the servants did strike{(G5707)} him with the palms of their hands.
66
And as Peter was{(G5752)} beneath in the palace, there cometh{(G5736)} one of the maids of the high priest:
67
And when she saw{(G5631)} Peter warming himself{(G5734)}, she looked{(G5660)} upon him, and said{(G5719)}, And thou also wast{(G5713)} with Jesus of Nazareth.
68
But he denied{(G5662)}, saying{(G5723)}, I know{(G5758)} not, neither understand I{(G5736)} what thou sayest{(G5719)}. And he went{(G5627)} out into the porch; and the cock crew{(G5656)}.
69
And a maid saw{(G5631)} him again, and began{(G5662)} to say{(G5721)} to them that stood by{(G5761)}, This{G3778} is{(G5748)} one of them.
70
And he denied it{(G5711)} again. And a little after, they that stood by{(G5761)} said{(G5707)} again to Peter, Surely thou art{(G5748)} one of them: for{G1063} thou art{(G5748)} a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth{(G5719)} thereto.
71
But he began{(G5662)} to curse{(G5721)} and to swear{(G5721)}, saying, I know{G1492}{(G5758)} not this man of whom ye speak{(G5719)}.
72
And the second time the cock crew{(G5656)}. And Peter called to mind{(G5681)} the word that Jesus said{(G5627)} unto him, Before the cock crow{(G5658)} twice, thou shalt deny{(G5695)} me thrice. And when he thought thereon{(G5631)}, he wept{(G5707)}.
