Mark 4

KJV with Strongs (1611 / 1769)

Strong's Interlinear
1
And he began{(G5662)} again to teach{(G5721)} by the sea side: and there was gathered{(G5681)} unto him a great multitude, so that he entered{(G5631)} into a ship, and sat{(G5738)} in the sea; and the whole multitude was{(G5713)} by the sea on the land.
2
And he taught{(G5707)} them many things by parables, and said{(G5707)} unto them in his doctrine,
3
Hearken{(G5720)}; Behold{(G5628)}, there went out{(G5627)} a sower{(G5723)} to sow{(G5658)}:
4
And it came to pass{(G5633)}, as he sowed{(G5721)}, some{G3303} fell{(G5627)} by the way side, and the fowls of the air came{(G5627)} and devoured it up{(G5627)}.
5
And some fell{(G5627)} on stony ground, where it had{(G5707)} not much earth; and immediately it sprang up{(G5656)}, because it had{(G5721)} no depth of earth:
6
But when the sun was up{(G5660)}, it was scorched{(G5681)}; and because it had{(G5721)} no root, it withered away{(G5681)}.
7
And some fell{(G5627)} among thorns, and the thorns grew up{(G5627)}, and choked{(G5656)} it, and it yielded{(G5656)} no fruit.
8
And other fell{(G5627)} on good ground, and did yield{(G5707)} fruit that sprang up{(G5723)} and increased{(G5723)}; and brought forth{(G5707)}, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9
And he said{(G5707)} unto them, He that hath{(G5723)} ears to hear{(G5721)}, let him hear{(G5720)}.
10
And when he was{(G5633)} alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked{(G5656)} of him the parable.
11
And he said{(G5707)} unto them, Unto you it is given{(G5769)} to know{(G5629)} the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done{(G5736)} in parables:
12
That seeing{(G5723)} they may see{(G5725)}, and not perceive{(G5632)}; and hearing{(G5723)} they may hear{(G5725)}, and not understand{(G5725)}; lest at any time they should be converted{(G5661)}, and their sins should be forgiven{(G5686)} them.
13
And he said{(G5719)} unto them, Know ye{(G5758)} not this parable? and how then will ye know{(G5695)} all parables?
14
The sower{(G5723)} soweth{(G5719)} the word.
15
And these are they{(G5748)} by the way side, where the word is sown{(G5743)}; but when they have heard{(G5661)}, Satan cometh{(G5736)} immediately, and taketh away{(G5719)} the word that was sown{(G5772)} in their hearts.
16
And these are they{(G5748)} likewise which are sown{(G5746)} on stony ground; who, when they have heard{(G5661)} the word, immediately receive{(G5719)} it with gladness;
17
And have{(G5719)} no root in themselves, and so endure{(G5748)} but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth{(G5637)} for the word's sake, immediately they are offended{(G5743)}.
18
And these are{(G5748)} they which are{(G5748)} sown{(G5746)} among thorns; such as hear{(G5723)} the word,
19
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in{(G5740)}, choke{(G5719)} the word, and it becometh{(G5736)} unfruitful.
20
And these are{(G5748)} they which are sown{(G5651)} on good ground; such as hear{(G5719)} the word, and receive{(G5736)} it, and bring forth fruit{(G5719)}, some thirtyfold, some{G1520} sixty, and some an hundred.
21
And he said{(G5707)} unto them, Is a candle brought{(G5736)} to be put{(G5686)} under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set{(G5686)} on a candlestick?
22
For there is{(G5748)} nothing hid{G5100}, which shall not be manifested{(G5686)}; neither was any thing kept{(G5633)} secret, but that it should come{(G5632)} abroad{G5318}.
23
If any man have{(G5719)} ears to hear{(G5721)}, let him hear{(G5720)}.
24
And he said{(G5707)} unto them, Take heed{(G5720)} what ye hear{(G5719)}: with what measure ye mete{(G5719)}, it shall be measured{(G5701)} to you: and unto you that hear{(G5723)} shall more be given{(G5701)}.
25
For{G302} he that hath{(G5725)}, to him shall be given{(G5701)}: and he that hath{(G5719)} not, from him shall be taken{(G5701)} even that which he hath{(G5719)}.
26
And he said{(G5707)}, So is{(G5748)} the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast{(G5632)} seed into the ground;
27
And should sleep{(G5725)}, and rise{(G5747)} night and day, and the seed should spring{(G5725)} and grow up{(G5747)}, he knoweth{(G5758)} not how.
28
For the earth bringeth forth fruit{(G5719)} of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29
But when the fruit is brought forth{(G5632)}, immediately he putteth in{(G5719)} the sickle, because the harvest is come{(G5758)}.
30
And he said{(G5707)}, Whereunto shall we liken{(G5661)} the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare{(G5632)} it?
31
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown{(G5652)} in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be{(G5748)} in the earth:
32
But when it is sown{(G5652)}, it groweth up{(G5719)}, and becometh{(G5736)} greater than all herbs, and shooteth out{(G5719)} great branches; so that the fowls of the air may{(G5738)} lodge{(G5721)} under the shadow of it.
33
And with many such parables spake he{(G5707)} the word unto them, as they were able{(G5711)} to hear{(G5721)} it.
34
But without a parable spake{(G5707)} he not unto them: and when they were alone{G2596}, he expounded{(G5707)} all things to his disciples.
35
And the same day, when the even was come{(G5637)}, he saith{(G5719)} unto them, Let us pass over{(G5632)} unto the other side.
36
And when they had sent away{(G5631)} the multitude, they took{(G5719)} him even as he was{(G5713)} in the ship. And there were{(G5713)} also with him other little ships.
37
And there arose{(G5736)} a great storm of wind, and the waves beat{(G5707)} into the ship, so that it was now full{(G5745)}.
38
And he was{(G5713)} in the hinder part of the ship, asleep{(G5723)} on a pillow: and they awake{(G5719)} him, and say{(G5719)} unto him, Master, carest{(G5719)} thou not that we perish{(G5731)}?
39
And he arose{(G5685)}, and rebuked{(G5656)} the wind, and said{(G5627)} unto the sea, Peace{(G5720)}, be still{(G5770)}. And the wind ceased{(G5656)}, and there was{(G5633)} a great calm.
40
And he said{(G5627)} unto them, Why are ye{(G5748)} so fearful? how is it that ye have{(G5719)} no faith?
41
And they feared{(G5675)} exceedingly{G3173}, and said{(G5707)} one to another, What manner of man is{(G5748)} this, that even the wind and the sea obey{(G5719)} him?
