Now gather{(H8704)} thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid{(H8804)} siege against us: they shall smite{(H8686)} the judge{(H8802)} of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth{(H8799)} unto me that is to be ruler{(H8802)} in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting{H5769}.

Therefore will he give them up{(H8799)}, until the time that she which travaileth{(H8802)} hath brought forth{(H8804)}: then the remnant of his brethren shall return{(H8799)} unto the children of Israel.

And he shall stand{(H8804)} and feed{(H8804)} in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide{(H8804)}: for now shall he be great{(H8799)} unto the ends of the earth.

And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come{(H8799)} into our land: and when he shall tread{(H8799)} in our palaces, then shall we raise{(H8689)} against him seven shepherds{(H8802)}, and eight principal men.

And they shall waste{(H8804)} the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver{(H8689)} us from the Assyrian, when he cometh{(H8799)} into our land, and when he treadeth{(H8799)} within our borders.

And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth{(H8762)} not for man, nor waiteth{(H8762)} for the sons of men.

And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through{(H8804)}, both treadeth down{(H8804)}, and teareth in pieces{(H8804)}, and none can deliver{(H8688)}.

Thine hand shall be lifted up{(H8799)} upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies{(H8802)} shall be cut off{(H8735)}.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith{(H8803)} the LORD, that I will cut off{(H8689)} thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy{(H8689)} thy chariots:

And I will cut off{(H8689)} the cities{(H8676)} of thy land, and throw down{(H8804)} all thy strong holds:

And I will cut off{(H8689)} witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers{(H8781)}:

Thy graven images also will I cut off{(H8689)}, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship{(H8691)} the work of thine hands.

And I will pluck up{(H8804)} thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy{(H8689)} thy cities{(H8676)}.

And I will execute{(H8804)} vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard{(H8804)}.
