Hebrews 2

KJV with Strongs (1611 / 1769)

Strong's Interlinear
1
Therefore{G5124} we ought{(G5748)} to give the more earnest heed{(G5721)} to the things which we have heard{(G5685)}, lest at any time we should let them slip{(G5632)}.
2
For if the word spoken{(G5685)} by angels was{(G5633)} stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received{(G5627)} a just recompence of reward;
3
How shall we escape{(G5695)}, if we neglect{(G5660)} so great salvation; which at the first began{(G5631)} to be spoken{(G5745)} by the Lord, and was confirmed{(G5681)} unto us by them that heard{(G5660)} him;
4
God also bearing them witness{(G5723)}, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
5
For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection{(G5656)} the world to come{(G5723)}, whereof{G3739} we speak{(G5719)}.
6
But one in a certain place testified{(G5662)}, saying{(G5723)}, What is{(G5748)} man, that thou art mindful{(G5736)} of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest{(G5736)} him?
7
Thou madest him a little{G5100} lower{(G5656)} than the angels; thou crownedst{(G5656)} him with glory and honour, and didst set{(G5656)} him over the works of thy hands:
8
Thou hast put all things in subjection{(G5656)} under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under{(G5658)} him, he left{(G5656)} nothing that is not put under him. But now we see{(G5719)} not yet all things put under{(G5772)} him.
9
But we see{(G5719)} Jesus, who was made a little{G5100} lower{(G5772)} than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned{(G5772)} with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste{(G5667)} death for every man.
10
For it became{(G5707)} him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing{(G5631)} many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect{(G5658)} through sufferings.
11
For both he that sanctifieth{(G5723)} and they who are sanctified{(G5746)} are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed{(G5736)} to call{(G5721)} them brethren,
12
Saying{(G5723)}, I will declare{(G5692)} thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise{(G5692)} unto thee.
13
And again, I will{(G5704)} put my trust{(G5756)} in him. And again, Behold{(G5628)} I and the children which God hath given{(G5656)} me.
14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers{(G5758)} of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part{(G5627)} of the same; that through death he might destroy{(G5661)} him that had{(G5723)} the power of death, that is{(G5748)}, the devil;
15
And deliver{(G5661)} them who through fear of death were{(G5713)} all their lifetime{(G5721)} subject to bondage.
16
For verily he took not on{(G5736)} him the nature of angels; but he took on{(G5736)} him the seed of Abraham.
17
Wherefore in all things it behoved him{(G5707)} to be made like{(G5683)} unto his brethren, that he might be{(G5638)} a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for{(G5745)} the sins of the people.
18
For in that he himself hath suffered{(G5754)} being tempted{(G5685)}, he is able{(G5736)} to succour{(G5658)} them that are tempted{(G5746)}.
