Now of the things which we have spoken{(G5746)} this is the sum: We have{(G5719)} such an high priest, who is set{(G5656)} on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched{(G5656)}, and not man.

For every high priest is ordained{(G5743)} to offer{(G5721)} gifts and{G2532} sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have{(G5721)} somewhat also to offer{(G5661)}.

For if{G3303} he were{(G5713)} on earth, he should not be{(G5713)} a priest, seeing that there are{(G5752)} priests that offer{(G5723)} gifts according to the law:

Who serve{(G5719)} unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God{(G5769)} when he was about{(G5723)} to make{(G5721)} the tabernacle: for, See{(G5720)}, saith he{(G5748)}, that thou make{(G5661)} all things according to the pattern shewed{(G5685)} to thee in the mount.

But now hath he obtained{(G5758)} a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is{(G5748)} the mediator of a better covenant, which was established{(G5769)} upon better promises.

For if that first covenant had been{(G5713)} faultless, then should no place have been sought{(G5712)} for the second.

For finding fault{(G5740)} with them, he saith{(G5719)}, Behold{(G5628)}, the days come{(G5736)}, saith{(G5719)} the Lord, when I will make{(G5692)} a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Not according to the covenant that I made with{(G5656)} their fathers in the day when I took{(G5637)} them by the hand{G5495} to lead{(G5629)} them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued{(G5656)} not in my covenant, and I regarded them not{(G5656)}, saith{(G5719)} the Lord.

For this is the covenant that I will make{(G5695)} with the house of Israel after those days, saith{(G5719)} the Lord; I will put{(G5723)} my laws into their mind, and write{(G5692)} them in their hearts: and I will be{(G5704)} to them a God, and they shall be{(G5704)} to me a people:

And they shall not teach{(G5661)} every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying{(G5723)}, Know{(G5628)} the Lord: for all shall know{(G5692)} me, from the least{G846} to the greatest{G846}.

For I will be{(G5704)} merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember{(G5686)} no more.

In that he saith{(G5721)}, A new covenant, he hath made the first old{(G5758)}. Now that which decayeth{(G5746)} and waxeth old{(G5723)} is ready to vanish away.
