Isaiah 13

KJV with Strongs (1611 / 1769)

Strong's Interlinear
1
The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see{(H8804)}.
2
Lift ye up{(H8798)} a banner upon the high{(H8737)} mountain, exalt{(H8685)} the voice unto them, shake{(H8685)} the hand, that they may go{(H8799)} into the gates of the nobles.
3
I have commanded{(H8765)} my sanctified ones{(H8794)}, I have also called{(H8804)} my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4
The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together{(H8737)}: the LORD of hosts mustereth{(H8764)} the host of the battle.
5
They come{(H8802)} from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy{(H8763)} the whole land.
6
Howl{(H8685)} ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come{(H8799)} as a destruction from the Almighty.
7
Therefore shall all hands be faint{(H8799)}, and every man's heart shall melt{(H8735)}:
8
And they shall be afraid{(H8738)}: pangs and sorrows shall take hold{(H8799)} of them; they shall be in pain{(H8799)} as a woman that travaileth{(H8802)}: they shall be amazed{(H8799)} one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh{(H8804)}, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay{(H8800)} the land desolate: and he shall destroy{(H8686)} the sinners thereof out of it.
10
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give{(H8686)} their light: the sun shall be darkened{(H8804)} in his going forth{(H8800)}, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine{(H8686)}.
11
And I will punish{(H8804)} the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease{(H8689)}, and will lay low{(H8686)} the haughtiness of the terrible.
12
I will make a man more precious{(H8686)} than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13
Therefore I will shake{(H8686)} the heavens, and the earth shall remove{(H8799)} out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
14
And it shall be as the chased{(H8716)} roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up{(H8764)}: they shall every man turn{(H8799)} to his own people, and flee{(H8799)} every one into his own land.
15
Every one that is found{(H8737)} shall be thrust through{(H8735)}; and every one that is joined{(H8737)} unto them shall fall{(H8799)} by the sword.
16
Their children also shall be dashed to pieces{(H8792)} before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled{(H8735)}, and their wives ravished{(H8735)}{(H8675)}{(H8735)}.
17
Behold, I will stir up{(H8688)} the Medes against them, which shall not regard{(H8799)} silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight{(H8799)} in it.
18
Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces{(H8762)}; and they shall have no pity{(H8762)} on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare{(H8799)} children.
19
And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20
It shall never be inhabited{(H8799)}, neither shall it be dwelt{(H8799)} in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent{(H8762)} there; neither shall the shepherds{(H8802)} make their fold{(H8686)} there.
21
But wild beasts of the desert shall lie{(H8804)} there; and their houses shall be full{(H8804)} of doleful creatures; and owls{H3284} shall dwell{(H8804)} there, and satyrs shall dance{(H8762)} there.
22
And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry{(H8804)} in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come{(H8800)}, and her days shall not be prolonged{(H8735)}.
