In those days the multitude being{(G5752)} very great, and having{(G5723)} nothing{G5101} to eat{(G5632)}, Jesus called{(G5666)} his disciples unto him, and saith{(G5719)} unto them,

I have compassion{(G5736)} on the multitude, because they have now been{(G5719)} with me three days, and have{(G5719)} nothing{G5101} to eat{(G5632)}:

And if I send them away{(G5661)} fasting to their own houses, they will faint{(G5701)} by the way: for divers of them came{(G5758)} from far.

And his disciples answered{(G5662)} him, From whence can{(G5695)} a man satisfy{(G5658)} these men with bread here in the wilderness?

And he asked{(G5707)} them, How many loaves have ye{(G5719)}? And they said{(G5627)}, Seven.

And he commanded{(G5656)} the people to sit down{(G5629)} on the ground: and he took{(G5631)} the seven loaves, and gave thanks{(G5660)}, and brake{(G5656)}, and gave{(G5707)} to his disciples to set before{(G5632)} them; and they did set them before{(G5656)} the people.

And they had{(G5707)} a few small fishes: and he blessed{(G5660)}, and commanded{(G5627)} to set them also before{(G5629)} them.

So they did eat{(G5627)}, and were filled{(G5681)}: and they took up{(G5656)} of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.

And they that had eaten{(G5631)} were{(G5713)} about four thousand: and he sent them away{(G5656)}.

And straightway he entered{(G5631)} into a ship with his disciples, and came{(G5627)} into the parts of Dalmanutha.

And the Pharisees came forth{(G5627)}, and began{(G5662)} to question{(G5721)} with him, seeking{(G5723)} of him a sign from heaven, tempting{(G5723)} him.

And he sighed deeply{(G5660)} in his spirit, and saith{(G5719)}, Why doth this generation seek after{(G5719)} a sign? verily I say{(G5719)} unto you, There shall no sign be given{(G5701)} unto this generation.

And he left{(G5631)} them, and entering{(G5631)} into the ship again departed{(G5627)} to the other side.

Now the disciples had forgotten{(G5633)} to take{(G5629)} bread, neither{G3756} had{(G5707)} they in the ship with them more than one loaf.

And he charged{(G5710)} them, saying{(G5723)}, Take heed{(G5720)}, beware{(G5720)} of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

And they reasoned{(G5711)} among themselves, saying{(G5723)}, It is because we have{(G5719)} no bread.

And when Jesus knew{(G5631)} it, he saith{(G5719)} unto them, Why reason ye{(G5736)}, because ye have{(G5719)} no bread? perceive ye{(G5719)} not yet, neither understand{(G5719)}? have ye{(G5719)} your heart yet hardened{(G5772)}?

Having{(G5723)} eyes, see ye{(G5719)} not? and having{(G5723)} ears, hear ye{(G5719)} not? and do ye not remember{(G5719)}?

When I brake{(G5656)} the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up{(G5656)}? They say{(G5719)} unto him, Twelve.

And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up{(G5656)}? And they said{(G5627)}, Seven.

And he said{(G5707)} unto them, How is it that ye do not understand{(G5719)}?

And he cometh{(G5736)} to Bethsaida; and they bring{(G5719)} a blind man unto him, and besought{(G5719)} him to touch{(G5672)} him.

And he took{(G5637)} the blind man by the hand, and led{(G5627)} him out of the town; and when he had spit{(G5660)} on his eyes, and put{(G5631)} his hands upon him, he asked{(G5707)} him if he saw{(G5719)} ought.

And he looked up{(G5660)}, and said{(G5707)}, I see{(G5719)} men as{G3708}{(G5719)} trees, walking{(G5723)}.

After that he put{(G5656)} his hands again upon his eyes, and made{(G5656)} him look up{(G5658)}: and he was restored{(G5681)}, and saw{(G5656)} every man clearly.

And he sent him away{(G5656)} to his house, saying{(G5723)}, Neither go{(G5632)} into the town, nor tell{(G5632)} it to any in the town.

And Jesus went out{(G5627)}, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked{(G5707)} his disciples, saying{(G5723)} unto them, Whom do men say{(G5719)} that I am{(G5750)}?

And they answered{(G5662)}, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

And he saith{(G5719)} unto them, But whom say{(G5719)} ye that I am{(G5750)}? And Peter answereth{(G5679)} and saith{(G5719)} unto him, Thou art{(G5748)} the Christ.

And he charged{(G5656)} them that they should tell{(G5725)} no man of him.

And he began{(G5662)} to teach{(G5721)} them, that the Son of man must{(G5748)} suffer{(G5629)} many things, and be rejected{(G5683)} of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed{(G5683)}, and after three days rise again{(G5629)}.

And he spake{(G5707)} that saying openly. And Peter took{(G5642)} him, and began{(G5662)} to rebuke{(G5721)} him.

But when he had turned about{(G5651)} and looked{(G5631)} on his disciples, he rebuked{(G5656)} Peter, saying{(G5723)}, Get thee{(G5720)} behind me, Satan: for thou savourest{(G5719)} not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

And when he had called{(G5666)} the people unto him with his disciples also, he said{(G5627)} unto them, Whosoever will{(G5719)} come{(G5629)} after me, let him deny{(G5663)} himself, and take up{(G5657)} his cross, and follow{(G5720)} me.

For whosoever{G302} will{(G5725)} save{(G5658)} his life shall lose{(G5692)} it; but whosoever{G302} shall lose{(G5661)} his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save{(G5692)} it.

For what shall it profit{(G5692)} a man, if he shall gain{(G5661)} the whole world, and lose{(G5686)} his own soul?

Or what shall a man give{(G5692)} in exchange for his soul?

Whosoever{G302} therefore shall be ashamed{(G5680)} of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed{(G5700)}, when he cometh{(G5632)} in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
