Ruth 2

KJV with Strongs (1611 / 1769)

Strong's Interlinear
1
And Naomi had a kinsman{(H8675)}{(H8794)} of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
2
And Ruth the Moabitess said{(H8799)} unto Naomi, Let me now go{(H8799)} to the field, and glean{(H8762)} ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find{(H8799)} grace. And she said{(H8799)} unto her, Go{(H8798)}, my daughter.
3
And she went{(H8799)}, and came{(H8799)}, and gleaned{(H8762)} in the field after the reapers{(H8802)}: and her hap was to light{(H8799)} on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
4
And, behold, Boaz came{(H8802)} from Bethlehem, and said{(H8799)} unto the reapers{(H8802)}, The LORD be with you. And they answered{(H8799)} him, The LORD bless{(H8762)} thee.
5
Then said{(H8799)} Boaz unto his servant that was set{(H8737)} over the reapers{(H8802)}, Whose damsel is this?
6
And the servant that was set{(H8737)} over the reapers{(H8802)} answered{(H8799)} and said{(H8799)}, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back{(H8804)} with Naomi out of the country of Moab:
7
And she said{(H8799)}, I pray you, let me glean{(H8762)} and gather{(H8804)} after the reapers{(H8802)} among the sheaves: so she came{(H8799)}, and hath continued{(H8799)} even from the morning until now, that she tarried{(H8800)} a little in the house.
8
Then said{(H8799)} Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest{(H8804)} thou not, my daughter? Go{(H8799)} not to glean{(H8800)} in another field, neither go{(H8799)} from hence, but abide{(H8799)} here fast by my maidens:
9
Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap{(H8799)}, and go{(H8804)} thou after them: have I not charged{(H8765)} the young men that they shall not touch{(H8800)} thee? and when thou art athirst{(H8804)}, go{(H8804)} unto the vessels, and drink{(H8804)} of that which the young men have drawn{(H8799)}.
10
Then she fell{(H8799)} on her face, and bowed{(H8691)} herself to the ground, and said{(H8799)} unto him, Why have I found{(H8804)} grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge{(H8687)} of me, seeing I am a stranger?
11
And Boaz answered{(H8799)} and said{(H8799)} unto her, It hath fully{(H8715)} been shewed{(H8717)} me, all that thou hast done{(H8804)} unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left{(H8799)} thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come{(H8799)} unto a people which thou knewest{(H8804)} not heretofore{H8032}.
12
The LORD recompense{(H8762)} thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come{(H8804)} to trust{(H8800)}.
13
Then she said{(H8799)}, Let me find{(H8799)} favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted{(H8765)} me, and for that thou hast spoken{(H8765)} friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
14
And Boaz said{(H8799)} unto her, At mealtime{H400} come{(H8798)} thou hither, and eat{(H8804)} of the bread, and dip{(H8804)} thy morsel in the vinegar. And she sat{(H8799)} beside the reapers{(H8802)}: and he reached{(H8799)} her parched corn, and she did eat{(H8799)}, and was sufficed{(H8799)}, and left{(H8686)}.
15
And when she was risen up{(H8799)} to glean{(H8763)}, Boaz commanded{(H8762)} his young men, saying{(H8800)}, Let her glean{(H8762)} even among the sheaves, and reproach{(H8686)} her not:
16
And let fall{(H8799)} also some of the handfuls of purpose{(H8800)} for her, and leave{(H8804)} them, that she may glean{(H8765)} them, and rebuke{(H8799)} her not.
17
So she gleaned{(H8762)} in the field until even, and beat out{(H8799)} that she had gleaned{(H8765)}: and it was about an ephah of barley.
18
And she took it up{(H8799)}, and went{(H8799)} into the city: and her mother in law saw{(H8799)} what she had gleaned{(H8765)}: and she brought forth{(H8686)}, and gave{(H8799)} to her that she had reserved{(H8689)} after she was sufficed.
19
And her mother in law said{(H8799)} unto her, Where hast thou gleaned{(H8765)} to day? and where wroughtest{(H8804)} thou? blessed{(H8803)} be he that did take knowledge{(H8688)} of thee. And she shewed{(H8686)} her mother in law with whom she had wrought{(H8804)}, and said{(H8799)}, The man's name with whom I wrought{(H8804)} to day is Boaz.
20
And Naomi said{(H8799)} unto her daughter in law, Blessed{(H8803)} be he of the LORD, who hath not left off{(H8804)} his kindness to the living and to the dead{(H8801)}. And Naomi said{(H8799)} unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen{(H8802)}.
21
And Ruth the Moabitess said{(H8799)}, He said{(H8804)} unto me also, Thou shalt keep fast{(H8799)} by my young men, until they have ended{(H8765)} all my harvest.
22
And Naomi said{(H8799)} unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out{(H8799)} with his maidens, that they meet{(H8799)} thee not in any other field.
23
So she kept fast{(H8799)} by the maidens of Boaz to glean{(H8763)} unto the end{(H8800)} of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt{(H8799)} with her mother in law.
