Then Naomi her mother in law said{(H8799)} unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek{(H8762)} rest for thee, that it may be well{(H8799)} with thee?

And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth{(H8802)} barley to night in the threshingfloor.

Wash{(H8804)} thyself therefore, and anoint{(H8804)} thee, and put{(H8804)} thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down{(H8804)} to the floor: but make not thyself known{(H8735)} unto the man, until he shall have done{(H8763)} eating{(H8800)} and drinking{(H8800)}.

And it shall be, when he lieth down{(H8800)}, that thou shalt mark{(H8804)} the place where he shall lie{(H8799)}, and thou shalt go in{(H8804)}, and uncover{(H8765)} his feet, and lay thee down{(H8804)}; and he will tell{(H8686)} thee what thou shalt do{(H8799)}.

And she said{(H8799)} unto her, All that thou sayest{(H8799)} unto me I will do{(H8799)}.

And she went down{(H8799)} unto the floor, and did{(H8799)} according to all that her mother in law bade{(H8765)} her.

And when Boaz had eaten{(H8799)} and drunk{(H8799)}, and his heart was merry{(H8799)}, he went{(H8799)} to lie down{(H8800)} at the end of the heap of corn: and she came{(H8799)} softly, and uncovered{(H8762)} his feet, and laid her down{(H8799)}.

And it came to pass at midnight{H3915}, that the man was afraid{(H8799)}, and turned{(H8735)} himself: and, behold, a woman lay{(H8802)} at his feet.

And he said{(H8799)}, Who art thou? And she answered{(H8799)}, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread{(H8804)} therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman{(H8802)}.

And he said{(H8799)}, Blessed{(H8803)} be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed{(H8689)} more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst{(H8800)} not young men, whether poor or rich.

And now, my daughter, fear{(H8799)} not; I will do{(H8799)} to thee all that thou requirest{(H8799)}: for all the city of my people doth know{(H8802)} that thou art a virtuous woman.

And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman{(H8802)}: howbeit there is a kinsman{(H8802)} nearer than I.

Tarry{(H8798)} this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman{(H8799)}, well; let him do the kinsman's part{(H8799)}: but if he will{(H8799)} not do the part of a kinsman{(H8800)} to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman{(H8804)} to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down{(H8798)} until the morning.

And she lay{(H8799)} at his feet until the morning: and she rose up{(H8799)} before one could know{(H8686)} another. And he said{(H8799)}, Let it not be known{(H8735)} that a woman came{(H8804)} into the floor.

Also he said{(H8799)}, Bring{(H8798)} the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold{(H8798)} it. And when she held{(H8799)} it, he measured{(H8799)} six measures of barley, and laid{(H8799)} it on her: and she went{(H8799)} into the city.

And when she came{(H8799)} to her mother in law, she said{(H8799)}, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told{(H8686)} her all that the man had done{(H8804)} to her.

And she said{(H8799)}, These six measures of barley gave{(H8804)} he me; for he said{(H8804)} to me, Go{(H8799)} not empty unto thy mother in law.

Then said{(H8799)} she, Sit still{(H8798)}, my daughter, until thou know{(H8799)} how the matter will fall{(H8799)}: for the man will not be in rest{(H8799)}, until he have finished{(H8765)} the thing this day.
